Thanks to vast community support, Hospice of Humboldt has raised $675,000 of the $750,000 goal for its Compassionate Growth campaign, leaving just $75,000 to go.
“The support we’ve received from our community has been nothing short of amazing,” said Tia Baratelle, director of development at Hospice of Humboldt. “Each donation, large or small, brings us closer to our goal and ensures that we can provide the specialized care that our patients and their families deserve.”
The Compassionate Growth campaign was launched to address a critical need in the community. A Hospice press release says, “Too often, patients spend their final days in hospitals without the dedicated support that both they and their families need during such a difficult time. By expanding their services and fully utilizing the Ida Emmerson Hospice House, HoH can ensure that more patients receive the specialized end-of-life care they deserve, surrounded by loved ones in a comforting environment. This project will also benefit local hospitals by easing their burden, allowing them to focus on acute care while HoH provides the compassionate support that is so essential during the end-of-life journey.”
Dianne Keating, CEO of Hospice of Humboldt, said, “This campaign is about more than just raising funds; it’s about making sure every patient receives the compassionate care they need. We’re so close to reaching our goal, and with the continued support of our community, I’m confident we will succeed.
“We are especially thankful to the McLean Foundation, Sierra Pacific Foundation, Larry Saunders, Rose Perenin Foundation, Christine Jalmer Berg Foundation, Schmidbauer Family Foundation, and Redwood Capital Bank.” Added Keating. “Their contributions, along with the kindness of so many others, are helping us expand our capacity to care for more families during one of life’s most meaningful moments.”
As Hospice of Humboldt approaches its goal, it is also beginning to recruit new staff to fully utilize the Ida Emmerson Hospice House. Hospice of Humboldt is currently seeking RNs, LVNs and CNAs who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.
