As we recognize National Hospice and Palliative Care Month this November, Hospice of Humboldt reflects on the privilege of being welcomed into the homes and lives of the families we serve.
We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us during such significant and meaningful moments. Our team is honored to provide compassionate care that supports both patients and their loved ones at the end of life.
Here are a few testimonials from families who have experienced the care and comfort of Hospice of Humboldt:
• Andie: “From the moment my grandfather was brought to the Ida Emmerson Hospice House, there was a sense of calm in a time of high stress and sorrow. The staff made it possible for all of us to create positive memories with him at the end of his life.”
• John: “Thank you for taking my hand and leading me through this confusing and difficult time. Having someone to walk beside me, hold my hand and guide my every step was more important than words can express.”
• Dianne: “The devotion and excellence of each staff member at the Hospice House was without parallel. Every day, they anticipated and fulfilled every need with unsurpassed dignity for both the patients and their families.”
• Debbie: “When I came here, I thought Hospice would teach me about dying. Instead, they taught me how to live. I shared real, honest moments with my daughter. We have never been closer, and I would not have had that time if it wasn’t for the Hospice House.”
• Amy: “Hospice of Humboldt gave us the ability to just be a family again. Their caring, skilled staff provided the time and energy for me to focus on being with my husband and our two children during his battle with cancer.”
• Gail : “Hospice of Humboldt met the end-of-life needs of both my parents perfectly. Whether at home or at the Hospice House, they were there for us every step of the way.”
This November, we are beyond grateful for the staff, caregivers, and volunteers who make this compassionate care possible and honor the families who allow us to walk alongside them during such an important time.
