Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm and Saturday from 10:00  am - 5:00 pm.

An easy way to support Hospice of Humboldt is by shopping at the Hospice Shop in Arcata and donating your gently used items to the Shop. We can pick up or deliver large items such as furniture. The Shop is open Monday through Saturday. Donations are received Monday through Saturday between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Sorry, we do not accept children’s clothing or toys, or anything that plugs in (except lamps).

Special Events

The Hospice Shop has several fun events during the year. (Check our calendar to find out event dates.) The Shop saves merchandise and clothing for Halloween and puts it out for sale starting in October. The annual Holiday Open House is held the first Saturday in December. Special Christmas items such as holiday clothing, decorations, and holiday gifts including toys are available. Cider and cookies are offered while shopping which adds a festive touch to this popular event.

Staff & Volunteers

The shop is managed by a full time staff member with two assistants and a group of about 30 wonderful volunteers. Volunteers work a four-hour shift during the Shop’s regular business hours and provide help with clerking, bagging, sewing, laundry, sorting, making displays, and much more. The benefits of volunteering are the personal rewards of working with friendly staff, volunteers and customers; but most rewarding is the sense of helping support Hospice of Humboldt services to the terminally ill.
